Magenta
Data Policy
How Magenta stores, isolates, and deletes analytics data.
Last updated September 3, 2026
First-party by design
Magenta measures properties you install it on. Events are stored in PostgreSQL / Timescale and optional DuckLake exports under your workspace. We do not build a cross-site identity graph.
Isolation
Events are keyed by site_id. Admin access is limited to workspace staff. Customer legal pages and banners are configured per site.
Retention and deletion
- Default analytics retention: 365 days, configurable in Settings.
- Consent audit records: 13 months, hashed visitor token only.
- Profile export: parquet download from the profiles API for a subject you own.
Processors
Hosting is on infrastructure we operate (currently AWS EC2 + local PostgreSQL for cheap production). Email/SMS vendors are used only for authentication you request. We do not send Magenta analytics to ad networks unless you enable a marketing integration after consent.
